A Summer Blue Soiree at The Chapel Athens

Katelyn and Brandon's wedding in Athens, Georgia, was truly one of the most fun and memorable celebrations I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. The day started at the stylish Hotel Indigo in downtown Athens, where both Katelyn and Brandon prepared for their big day. There was a contagious excitement in the air, especially as the couple's first look took place at the serene Founders Garden on the University of Georgia's campus. The lush greenery and historic charm of the garden provided the perfect romantic backdrop.

Their ceremony, held at the beautiful Catholic Church on campus, was a meaningful and heartfelt moment, filled with joy and reverence. Afterward, we moved to The Chapel Athens, where Katelyn, with her insider knowledge as an employee of the venue, had designed the cocktail hour and reception to absolute perfection. The entire event was tied together with stunning shades of blue, sprinkled throughout the details and décor—from the bridesmaids' dresses to the table settings and floral accents. It gave the whole day an elegant, cohesive feel that perfectly complemented the historic beauty of Athens.

One of the most unique and fun elements of the day was Katelyn and Brandon’s choice to ride the iconic Athens Trolley to their various destinations. It added a charming, nostalgic touch to the experience, and allowed the couple and their wedding party to fully enjoy the vibrant energy of Athens as they traveled from Hotel Indigo to the Founders Garden, the Catholic Church, and finally to The Chapel Athens. The trolley rides were full of laughter, music, and anticipation, making each stop along the way feel like an adventure. It was the perfect way to soak in the excitement of the day while taking in the beauty of the city. The trolley, with its classic charm, became a moving part of the celebration and added a fun twist to the day’s journey.

One of the standout moments during cocktail hour was the glamorous champagne tower, which added a sophisticated yet playful vibe. Guests enjoyed drinks and conversation, basking in the celebratory atmosphere, while anticipation built for the reception. When the party finally kicked off at The Chapel, it was electric. The energy on the dance floor was contagious, and everyone—from family to friends—came together to celebrate Katelyn and Brandon in the best way possible.

Katelyn’s experience working in the wedding industry was evident in every little detail. She knew exactly what she wanted, and the result was a wedding day that was not only beautiful but incredibly well-organized. From start to finish, this day was one of the most fun and lively celebrations I’ve ever captured!
